MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the local government here Friday awarded coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) safety seals to three compliant establishments in the city.
The safety seal is a voluntary certification scheme affirming an establishment is compliant with the minimum public health standards (MPHS).
The three city-based establishments have earned their safety seals that were received by their representatives – Kim Valdez, property manager of SkyTech; Maro dela Cruz, branch manager of McDonald’s San Francisco Branch; and John Paul Ingal, administrative personnel of Mang Inasal Mabalacat City Branch.
City Mayor Crisostomo Garbo said the DILG’s granting of safety seals reaffirms the city government’s commitment to enforcing the MPHS to provide a safe workplace for the Mabalaqueño workforce and protect consumers by guarding and cautioning establishments against the virus.
“Ang inisyatibang ito ay bahagi po ng malawak na programa ng pamahalaang nasyunal at ng siyudad kontra Covid-19 sa larangan ng prevention and infection control. Ang pamahalaang nasyunal ay may mandato po sa atin na i-monitor ang mga establisimyento gaya ng mga malls, wet markets, retail stores, restaurants, at iba pang mga pribadong institusyon upang masiguro na MPHS-compliant ang mga ito," (This initiative is part of the wider program of the national government and the city against Covid-19 in terms of prevention and infection control. The national government has a mandate for us to monitor the establishments, such as malls, wet markets, retail stores, restaurants, and other private institutions to ensure that they are MPHS-compliant),” Garbo said in an official social media account post.
Safety seals are free and are valid for six months from the date of issuance, except for tourism enterprises, which are valid for one year.
Certification posters are conspicuously displayed, indicating the building or establishment is compliant with health protocols against Covid-19. (PNA)
