MANILA – Government employees and retirees can now easily check their information with the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) through the agency’s mobile app, GSIS Touch.

During the Laging Handa briefing aired over PTV-4 on Monday, GSIS executive vice president for support services Dionisio Ebdane Jr. said the app, which was developed by the state-owned insurance firm, will allow members and pensioners to check membership information as well as details of their loans, benefits, pensions, and the agency’s products and services.

Ebdane said members may also apply for loans through the app.

Napakahalaga po ito, (Presidential Communications Operations Office) Undersecretary Rocky (Ignacio), kasi bago nila ma-avail ang kanilang benepisyo at saka services po sa GSIS na we offer to them, dapat po maayos iyong kanilang record. So, dito pa lang sa kanilang telepono, kitang-kita na nila kung updated ba ang records nila (This is important, Usec. Rocky, because they need to have orderly records before they can avail of any GSIS’ benefits and services. They can check if their records are updated through the app),” he said.

Ebdane said pensioners can also set the schedule for their Annual Pensioners Information Revalidation (APIR) through the app.

He said GSIS members need to have a registered email address before they can download the app through the Android or Apple IOS.

Once the app has been downloaded, Ebdane said a GSIS member needs to input a password to be able to fully access the app.

If the members encounter any issue on downloading the app, they can call GSIS’ 24/7 hotline, 847-47-47, for help or watch the tutorial video on YouTube, he added. (PNA)
