BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The number of vaccinees in this province has reached 43,394 during the three-day national vaccination drive under the Department of Health’s "Bayanihan, Bakunahan" campaign.

Governor Albert Garcia said Thursday reports showed that Bataan topped the Central Luzon provinces with the most number of individuals inoculated against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

The governor said the number included those administered with the first and second doses as well as booster shots in 29 vaccination sites, mobile "Vax on Wheels" and other inoculation booths in 11 towns and one city of the province.

The vaccination drive is also part of the provincial government’s "Handog para sa Bakunadong Bataeno" program where all those who availed the jabs received five kilos of rice each as an incentive.

“Patuloy pa rin ang ating pamamahagi ng limang kilong bigas sa bawat indibidwal na magpapabakuna sa lahat ng vaccination sites sa iba't ibang munisipalidad at nag-iisang lungsod ng ating lalawigan hanggang Biyernes. Ito ay paunang handog ng ating pamahalaang panlalawigan para sa mas ligtas at mapayapang Kapaskuhan (The distribution of five kilos of rice to every individual who will be inoculated in all the vaccination sites in the different municipalities and one city in our province continues until Friday. This is an initial gift of the provincial government for a more safe and peaceful Christmas),” Garcia said in social media post. (PNA)
