Cagayan’s 2 Omicron cases now 'clinically recovered'

TUGUEGARAO CITY – Two Omicron variant cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) have been confirmed in Cagayan but the patients have clinically recovered, a health official said late Tuesday afternoon.

Cagayan Provincial Health Officer Dr. Carlos Cortina III told the Philippine News Agency that one of them who hailed from Cato, Tuao, Cagayan had a travel history to Metro Manila, while the other came from this city.

Meanwhile, Cagayan Valley region has administered vaccines to 1,964,187 people, mostly under the A4 priority group or economic front-liners comprising 479,954 individuals.

Among the target health workers or A1 priority workers, 93.72 percent received jabs; 72.15 of the senior citizens; and 91.87 percent of people with comorbidities.

The Department of Health targeted 2,609,284 individuals to be vaccinated against coronavirus in Cagayan Valley.

Active cases had reached 6,054 in the region as of Monday. (PNA)
