Antiqueños urged to strictly observe health protocols

SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique – The Antique Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force for coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) is urging the public to strictly observe the health protocols as the province remains under Alert Level 3 until the end of month.

Antique IATF action officer Margie Gadian said in an interview the national IATF during their meeting on January 20 has not downgraded the alert status of the province because of the continuing rise of Covid-19.

“Antique is still under Alert Level 3 beginning today, January 21, to 31,” she said.

Gadian added that Executive Order 001-A, series of 2022 issued on January 14 by Governor Rhodora Cadiao will be extended until January 31.

“The people are advised to follow the EO to the letter if they would like our status to be downgraded to Level 2,” she said.

In the EO, the establishments and/or activities such as contact sports; kid amusement industries playgrounds, playroom and kiddie rides; and cockfighting and operation of cockpits are characterized as high-risk for transmission and prohibited.

Visitors including from the provinces of Aklan, Capiz, Iloilo, and Guimaras are only required to present their identification card and Covid-19 vaccination card if inoculated while those ineligible to receive the vaccine are asked to present a medical certificate.

For returning Antiqueños coming from outside Aklan, Capiz, Iloilo, and Guimaras, they have to secure a notice of coordination and acceptance from the municipal coordinator of the receiving municipal government unit and have to secure negative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test result within three days before their travel.

Curfew is still being implemented from midnight to 4 a.m. except for Authorized Persons Outside of Residence (APORs), essential workers on night shifts, and emergency cases.

Based on the latest available data of the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) as of January 20, the province has 859 active cases out of the 7,018 total confirmed cases, 5,869 recovered cases, and 290 total number of deaths. (PNA)
