BACOLOD CITY – A top drug personality of San Carlos City in northern Negros Occidental yielded PHP1.088 million worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust in Sitio Tul-ang, Barangay Rizal late Monday night.

The suspect identified as Cesar “Manong” Pasigay, 47, resident of Kamarin area in the same village, and tagged as a high value individual and the number eight drug personality on the watchlist of San Carlos City Police Station.

Lt. Roby Aurita, city police deputy for administration, said on Tuesday the suspect is detained in their custodial facility.

The Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit-Western Visayas (RPDEU-6), which led the operation, will file the charges against Pasigay for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, she added.

At around 11:38 p.m., Pasigay, who was on board a black Rusi motorcycle, transacted with a poseur-buyer and received PHP90,000 in cash, consisting of both real and boodle money, the police report said.

Operatives found in his possession a blue pouch containing eight big heat-sealed plastic sachets of suspected shabu along with cash worth PHP1,660.

The inventory showed the prohibited substance weighed about 160 grams with a standard drug price of PHP6,800 per gram.

The operation was conducted by personnel of RPDEU-6 led by Lt. Glenn Soliman and San Carlos City Police Station under Lt. Rodney Sarona, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-6.

Last January 12, the local police also arrested the northern city’s number one priority drug target Joel Rizardo, 24, of Greenville Bato, Barangay Rizal, who yielded PHP10.2 million worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust in Barangay Guadalupe. (PNA)
