CAMP ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan – Fifty-two law offenders were arrested in this province under the one-day Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement (SACLEO) operations on Tuesday.

In a report on Wednesday, Col. Rommel J. Ochave, acting Bulacan police provincial director, said 19 of them were drug suspects nabbed in separate drug stings by the Station Drug Enforcement Unit of the municipal/city police stations of Balagtas, Bulakan, Bustos, Malolos, Obando, Pandi, Paombong, Sta. Maria, 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) and Bulacan Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU).

Ochave said a total of 56 plastic sachets of shabu, cellular phones, motorcycles, vehicles, and buy-bust money were recovered from the suspects.

Likewise, he said 15 illegal gamblers were arrested in anti-illegal gambling operations by the operatives of Bulakan, Marilao, Meycauayan, and 1st PMFC.

Ochave said the arrested individuals were caught in the act of engaging in different illegal gambling activities such as cockfighting (tupada), card games (pusoy and tong-its) and cara y cruz.

Recovered from the suspects were fighting cocks, gaffs, playing cards, three pieces of one-peso coin, and bet money in different denominations.

Appropriate criminal complaints against the arrested suspects are now being prepared for filing in court.

Ochave also said 18 persons wanted by the law were arrested in a series of manhunt operations by the tracker teams of Angat, Bocaue, Guiguinto, Hagonoy, Marilao, Meycauayan, Plaridel, San Rafael, Sta. Maria, 1st and 2nd PMFC.

He said three of the fugitives were identified as Raul Coma Jr., Angat's most wanted person who was arrested for rape; Enrico Madrelejos of Barangay Abangan Norte, Marilao, also for rape (two counts); and Jerome Cobrana of Barangay Lolomboy, Bocaue for violation of Republic Act 10883 (New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016).

"In the midst of the Covid-19 crisis, Bulacan police will remain unrelenting in implementing its intensified campaign against all forms of criminality as directed by the regional director of Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) Brig. Gen. Matthew P. Baccay," Ochave said. (PNA)
