MANILA – Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, Gen. Dionardo Carlos, on Wednesday commended the Police Regional Office (PRO) 6 (Western Visayas) for apprehending 299 erring persons during its simultaneous anti-criminality law enforcement operations from February 5 to 12.

Citing the accomplishment report submitted by PRO-6 Director, Brig. Gen. Flynn E. Dongbo, Carlos said cops in the region arrested 90 wanted persons, 27 drug suspects, 140 persons found violating the law on illegal gambling, 35 persons booked for illegal fishing, and seven persons possessing loose firearms.

In the same report, Carlos said PRO-6 drug enforcement units served search warrants for the violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Act of 2002 and conducted 25 operations that yielded about 753 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP5.12 million.

Meanwhile, four communist rebels returned to the fold of the law and availed of the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program of the government.

“With these scored accomplishments, it only exemplifies your hard work and commitment to further intensify our strategies on our campaign against criminality, illegal drugs, corruption, and insurgency in the country. I firmly believe that through strengthened collaboration with our external stakeholders, we can defeat lawlessness and bring peace to this nation,” Carlos said. (PNA)
