DUMAGUETE CITY – The Bureau of Customs (BOC) Subport in this capital city has set a record accomplishment by hitting the highest ever monthly revenue collection last January.

Gina Fatima Lasola, acting port collector, told the Philippine News Agency on Wednesday that the subport collected PHP947 million last month, exceeding the target of PHP820 million by PHP127 million.

“This is a record-high collection, the highest actual monthly revenue ever recorded for the subport,” she said in mixed English and Cebuano.

The accomplishment is attributed to the importation of petroleum products, rice, and palm olein, she noted.

Lasola said Filoil Energy Co., Inc. is the leading contributor and importer of the subport.

Meanwhile, the BOC has set the Dumaguete subport office’s target revenue collection for 2022 at PHP6.284 billion.

“It is a great challenge, but I am positive that the subport will be able to achieve its target for this year. With the continued cooperation and support of our stakeholders, we are committed to (working) hard to collect lawful revenues for the government,” Lasola said.

In December last year, personnel of the subport were commended for having worked for a successful ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System. (PNA)
