Nets come back from 28-point deficit to beat Knicks in New York

ANKARA – The Brooklyn Nets beat the New York Knicks 111-106 with a stunning 28-point comeback in an away game on Wednesday night.

Home team Knicks were leading the NBA game 54-26 in the second period but the Nets erased the double-digit deficit during the rest of the game.

The Brooklyn displayed a splendid performance in the fourth quarter, scoring 38 points while New York clocked up only 19.

The game tied 97-97 in the fourth quarter with under five minutes remaining to the final buzzer. But the contest was tight until the final seconds.

The Nets' rookie guard Cam Thomas scored a deep three-pointer with 7.7 seconds left at New York's Madison Square Garden, giving the Brooklyn a 109-103 lead.

After Brooklyn's LaMarcus Aldridge scored twice from the free throw line, the Nets secured a 111-106 victory over New York.

Thomas led the Nets as he scored 21 points. Another Nets guard Seth Curry racked up 20 points while Aldridge tallied 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Brooklyn center Andre Drummond scored 11 points and took 19 rebounds.

The Nets' recent signing Ben Simmons watched the game from the bench.

Knicks power forward Julius Randle was the game's highest scorer as the 27-year-old produced 31 points and gained 10 rebounds.

Immanuel Quickley scored 18 points for New York and Knicks' French guard Evan Fournier added 16 points.

The Nets are in the eighth position in the Eastern Conference standings with 31 wins and 27 losses.

The Knicks sit 12th in the same conference, having a 25-34 win-loss record.

Lakers win, Antony Davis injured in game vs Jazz

The Los Angeles Lakers won against the Utah Jazz 106-101 at home. Lakers forward Anthony Davis was forced to exit the game due to a right ankle injury.

Davis, 28, went off in the second quarter after playing nearly 17 minutes.

He scored 17 points for the Lakers at Crypto.com Arena.

A Lakers reporter said Davis will be treated during the All-Star break.

"X-rays were negative on Anthony Davis' ankle. He’ll receive treatment over the All-Star break, and be re-evaluated when the team gets back," Mike Trudell said on Twitter.

The 71st NBA All-Star Game will be held on Sunday at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland.

In December, Davis was sidelined for at least four weeks after spraining a medial collateral ligament his left knee.

He returned to the game in late January.

On Wednesday, LeBron James led the Lakers, scoring 33 points, and his teammate Russell Westbrook added 17 points.

Jazz shooting guard Donovan Mitchell scored 37 points to be the game's top scorer.

Bojan Bogdanovic racked up 15 points for the Jazz.

Utah point guard Jordan Clarkson bagged 13 points.

The Lakers are currently in the ninth position. They won 27 games but lost 31 others this season.

Fourth-place Jazz are going with a 36-22 win/loss record.
