MANILA – The trough of a low-pressure area (LPA) is seen to bring clouds and rains in the eastern section of Mindanao, the weather bureau reported on Saturday.

In its 4 a.m. weather forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail in the Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao regions brought by the LPA's trough.

Troughs are elongated areas of low pressure that can also lead to weather events, such as rain and wind.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms brought by the easterlies or localized thunderstorms are expected to reign over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Light to moderate winds headed east to the northeast will blow over Northern Luzon, with slight to moderate coastal waters.

Winds in the rest of the country will be light to moderate and headed northeast to north, with the same coastal water conditions.

The temperature in Metro Manila will range from 24°C to 32°C; Baguio City, 14°C to 25°C; Puerto Princesa City, 26°C to 31°C; Metro Cebu, 24°C to 30°C; Cagayan de Oro City, 23°C to 30°C; and Metro Davao, 24°C to 32°C. (PNA)
