PDEA nabs town councilor’s wife in Maguindanao

COTABATO CITY – Anti-narcotic operatives arrested on Sunday a former town employee but missed her husband, a town councilor, during an anti-drug operation in Maguindanao.

Director Rogelito Daculla of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-BARMM) identified the suspect as Raquel Tasil Manibpel, 31, former town employee of Talitay town who has standing warrants of arrest along with her husband, Talitay Councilor Suwaib Manibpel, for drug-related charges.

The councilor eluded arrest when PDEA-Maguindanao operatives served the arrest warrants on him and his wife on March 6 in Barangay Lower Taviran of Datu Odin Sinsuat town.

The operation was conducted at 1 p.m. by PDEA, the Army’s 6th Infantry Battalion of the 6th Infantry Division, and the National Bureau of Investigation.

The couple will be charged with the violations of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2022) at Branch 27, Regional Trial Court RTC 12, Cotabato City. (PNA)
