BANGUED, Abra – Clad in red and green shirts, residents here on Wednesday vowed to give their all-out support to the Uniteam presidential-vice presidential tandem of former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.

“Solid North kami dito sa Abra (We are Solid North here in Abra). Ninety-nine percent of the voters’ population here ay talagang sumusuporta sa Uniteam (really supports UniTeam),” Barangay Cabuloan Chair Florencio Viado said in an interview.

Viado said the country can be “great again” if the BBM-Sara tandem wins the May polls.

“Kapag Ilocano ang kandidato, automatic ang supporta namin. Kaya sigurado kami na ‘yung pwersa ng Mindanao at Norte ay solidong magtatayo ng buong Pilipinas (If a candidate is Ilocano, we automatically give support. So, we are sure that the forces of Mindanao and North will build solid support),” Viado said.

Marcos is an Ilocano.

One of those in the crowd was Nona Castillo, 60, who said she was waiting for the arrival of the UniTeam since 6 a.m. Wednesday.

“Talagang mainit ang pagtanggap naming taga-Abra dahil sobrang mahal namin ang BBM-Sara (We really give warm welcome here in Abra because we really love BBM-Sara),” Castillo said.

Castillo also praised the UniTeam bets for not being involved in “negative campaigning.”

“Kapag nangangampanya ay hindi sila nakikipag-away at hindi sila naninira sa kapwa nilang kandidato (When campaigning, they do not fight and insult their fellow candidates), which symbolize how great of a leader they are ,” Castillo said. (PR)
