Zambo City hits 95% Covid-19 recovery rate

ZAMBOANGA CITY – The City Health Office (CHO) has recorded a recovery rate of 95.51 percent or 27,594 individuals who have recovered from coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infection since the start of the health pandemic in March 2020.

The CHO data showed the city recorded 28,890 cumulative cases of Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic two years ago until March 21, 2022, with 27,594 recoveries, 89 active cases, and 1,207 deaths.

Also, 96.62 percent or 86 of the active cases were acquired through community transmission; the remaining three were detainees.

The health status of active cases are broken down as: asymptomatic, 82.5 percent; mild symptoms, 10.5 percent; and severe, seven percent.

Of the 1,207 recorded deaths, 1,197 are from the community, four persons deprived of liberty, three detainees, one authorized person outside residence, one from the Bureau of Corrections, and one locally-stranded individual.

The national Inter-Agency Task Force for the management of Emerging Infectious Diseases has placed the city under Alert Level 1 until March 31. (PNA)
