DAVAO CITY – While some are skeptical about the choice of vice-presidential aspirant Mayor Sara Z. Duterte of her presidential bet, she reiterated that Partido Federal ng Pilipinas standard-bearer Ferdinand “Bongbong “ Marcos Jr. is her only choice for president.
In a video message Wednesday, Duterte reaffirmed her commitment to supporting Marcos, even as several supporters link her to other presidential candidates.
Duterte is a constant frontrunner in the vice presidential surveys of various polling firms.
However, as she continuously leads preference polls, some of her supporters have also been forging tandems associating her with other presidential hopefuls.
“I intend to honor the commitment of my parties — the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats and Hugpong ng Pagbabago — and that is to support Apo Bongbong Marcos as president,” she said.
Duterte said she will continue to pray and call out her friends to trust the UniTeam in serving the country with fairness, love, honor, and dedication once elected into office.
“When we agreed to form the UniTeam of Bongbong Marcos and Sara Duterte, we both agreed to run together with the singular purpose of improving the lives of the Filipinos and making the Philippines a stronger country,” she said.
Overwhelmed by the massive support she is receiving, Duterte said he is thankful to her supporters for showing her their confidence "as a leader.”
“Once again, let me reiterate that I am aware that many of you wish to see me with another presidential candidate. I take that as a sign of confidence in me as a leader. And for that, I am truly deeply touched and honored,” she said. (PNA)
