2 'crime group members' yield in Zambo Sibugay

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Two alleged members of a crime group has surrendered to government authorities on separate occasions in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, a top police official said Friday.

Col. Albert Larubis, Zamboanga Sibugay police director, identified the crime group surrenderers as Jamahali Hamid alias Bas Asal, 34, and Jailen Amen alias Ailen Baser, 53.

Larubis said the two are members of the Abdusalam Crime Group, which is involved in kidnapping for ransom, extortion, and other criminal activities.

Hamid surrendered to policemen around 2 p.m. Thursday in Barangay Mamagon, Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay, according to Larubis.

Amen, meanwhile, surrendered around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Barangay Sininan, Kabasalan town, also in Zamboanga Sibugay province.

Larubis said the two surrenderers were placed under custodial debriefing to determine the extent of their involvement in the Abdusalam Criminal Gang. (PNA)
