MANILA – Presidential candidate Senator Panfilo Lacson said his miting de avance before the May 9 national elections will focus and highlight on promoting voter awareness and going beyond the cycle of revenge.

In a statement on Monday, Lacson's camp said they are still putting on the finishing touches for the grand rally in the senator's home province of Cavite and a city in Metro Manila.

“That’s why we’re focusing on dialogues. We’re focusing on issues, on platforms. And whatever happens, at least, ‘yun ang legacy na pwede naming iwanan (that will be our legacy), na (that) we tried our best to change that culture of revenge between the voter and the voted,” he said.

Kasi siklo na ng ano ito e, ng higantihan. Kailan pa? Ang nag-su-suffer ‘yung bansa (This is a cycle of revenge. Until when? The country is suffering). Hindi OA ito ha (This is no overacting). Because we’ve been in public service for so long and we've observed so many elections. Ganyan na lang nangyayari, lokohan na lang nang lokohan (It's always been like this. A cycle of foolishness). We want to break that,” Lacson added.

He believes that his campaign has enlightened voters.

“So, ‘yon ang self-satisfaction na somehow mayroong na-accomplish (there is self-satisfaction that somehow we accomplished) ‘yung voters’ education, enlightenment ng (of) voters na hindi kulay ang pinag-uusapan kundi plataporma (that it’s not the color that matters but platforms which need to be discussed),” he said.
