Over 1.5M Caraganons now fully vaxxed

BUTUAN CITY – At least 1,582,978 individuals in the Caraga Region have been fully vaccinated as of May 8, the Department of Health in the area (DOH-13) said.

In a report Tuesday (May 10), DOH-13 said the number represents 69.82 percent of the total target population for vaccination in the region.

“As of May 8, a total of 3,279,437 doses of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccines were already administered in the region,” DOH-13 said.

A total of 195,174 individuals have so far received their booster shots for the Covid-19 vaccines, the report added.

The report also said that a total of 167,527 senior citizens and 210,640 individuals with comorbidities in the region are already fully vaccinated during the period.

A total of 382,736 front-line personnel in essential sectors and 64,082 front-line health workers have already received their full shots of the Covid-19 vaccines.

Likewise, some 216,932 indigenous population, 267,354 rest of the adult population, and 243,465 pediatric population aged 12 to 17 in the region are already fully vaccinated, according to the agency.

The rest of the fully vaccinated individuals in the region include pregnant women, children with comorbidities, and Overseas Filipino Workers.

Even with the high number of vaccinated residents, DOH-13 reiterated its call on residents to have themselves vaccinated for protection from the continuing threat of the pandemic. (PNA)
