Cops nab 2 most wanted ‘child abusers’ in Dinagat

BUTUAN CITY – Two most wanted persons accused of abusing children in the Province of Dinagat Islands were apprehended during separate operations in the area, police said Tuesday.

Brig. Gen. Romeo Caramat Jr., Police Regional Office in Caraga (PRO-13) director,  said suspects Ian Jimenez Arandia, 22; and Loez Edward Lumahan Simena, 27, were both nabbed on Monday.
Arandia has a standing warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch (RTC) 32 in Surigao City for child abuse under the Republic Act .

Based on the report of the San Jose police, Arandia allegedly forced and seduced a 15-year-old girl into sexual intercourse in July 2021. The victim got pregnant.

Simena, on the other hand, also has an arrest warrant for violating RA 7610, specifically on Child Abuse issued by RTC Branch 23 in Surigao City.

Simena was accused of molesting and threatening a 13-year-old girl sometime in December 2020. (PNA)
