MANILA – Senator Christopher "Bong" Go said on Wednesday it is too early to talk about alliances in the Senate but vowed to join initiatives that would continue the programs of the Duterte administration.

He said he would "most likely" be in the majority bloc.

Whoever continues programs that help the poor, that I will support)," he said in an interview during his visit to fire victims of Barangay 310 in Sta Cruz, Manila.

One of these, Go said, is the "Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pagasa" (BP2) Program which helped a lot of Filipinos during the pandemic.

If we are in the province, we can ask for assistance from our relatives. That's why me, I encourage that this program would be continued by the next administration)," he said.

Go said there are still plenty of Filipinos who want to avail of BP2, which has provided houses and livelihood to its beneficiaries.

He also shared a piece of advice to newbie senators in the 19th Congress like actor Robin Padilla, offering one which he got from President Rodrigo Roa Duterte when he won the Senate seat in 2019.
"Unahin mo ang kapwa mo Pilipino, hindi ka magkakamali (Prioritize your fellow Filipinos, you will never go wrong),” Go said. (PNA)
