Manila administers over 5K doses of 2nd booster shot

MANILA – Over 5,000 individuals have availed of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) second booster shots in the city of Manila since its rollout for immunocompromised individuals on April 26, and for the elderly and health care workers on Thursday.

As of Friday, the Manila Public Information Office said 5,635 individuals already have the second booster shot.

There are 550,345 in Manila with first booster shots.

The city government has already administered 3,447,645 Covid-19 vaccine doses, with 1,704,851 fully vaccinated.

Meanwhile, starting June 17, Manila’s 24/7 Covid-19 drive-thru vaccination at the Quirino Grandstand will cease operation.

He added that with the closing of the drive-thru site, the drive-thru swab testing will also cease.

Domagoso assured there are still available free testing in the city’s hospitals while vaccination sites and schedules are updated regularly on social media.

As of noontime on Friday, the City of Manila has 22 active Covid-19 cases. (PNA)
