Farmer killed, another hurt in Northern Samar shooting

TACLOBAN CITY – A farmer died and another was wounded by a stray bullet in a shooting during a cockfight in Pambujan, Northern Samar on Sunday.

Reports reaching the Philippine National Police regional office here on Monday disclosed that Remy Subalidsid, 38, was shot several times by Erwin Subalidsid, 26 using a short firearm.

Wounded was Ronnie Francisco, 26, when a stray bullet hit him.

The incident happened around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday while the suspect and victims were watching "tupada", an illegal cockfighting event in Ynaguingayan village.

The suspect immediately fled from the crime scene.

Police are still investigating the motive behind the shooting. (PNA)
