Caraga logs 17 new Covid-19 recoveries

BUTUAN CITY – At least 17 new recoveries from coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) were recorded from May 22 to 28, the Department of Health in the Caraga Region (DOH-13) reported Tuesday.

In its weekly report, DOH-13 said the recent number of individuals who recovered from Covid-19 brought the total number of recoveries in the region to 56,714.

The agency also reported 24 new Covid-19 cases last week, bringing the total number of infections to 58,940.

“As of Tuesday, Caraga Region has 25 active Covid-19 cases,” DOH-13 said.

No severe or critical cases were reported in the 24 new Covid-19 cases logged last week, the agency added.

The new cases were recorded in the provinces of Agusan del Sur (4), Agusan del Norte (1), Surigao del Norte (4), Cabadbaran City (3), Bayugan City (1), and Butuan City (11).

Two provinces, namely Surigao del Sur and Dinagat Islands, and three cities, including Tandag, Bislig, and Surigao, logged zero Covi-19 cases last week, the DOH-13 report said.

A total of six deaths were also recorded last week, bringing the total number of Covid-19 related deaths in the region to 2,201. (PNA)
