Over 1.6-M Caraganons fully vaxxed

BUTUAN CITY – At least 1,604,387 residents in the Caraga Region are fully vaccinated against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), the regional health office said Wednesday.

In a report, the Department of Health in the Caraga Region (DOH-13) said the number represents 70.77 percent of the target population for vaccination in the region as of May 30.

“In the same period, a total of 3,331,582 Covid-19 vaccines were already administered in the region,” the DOH-13 said.

Individuals classified as frontline personnel in essential sectors (A4) have the most number of vaccinations with 357,245; followed by the rest of the adult population with 268,779, and the rest of the pediatric population aged 12 to 17 with 247,307.

A total of 217,890 individuals under the Indigenous Population (A5) are also considered fully vaccinated, as well as 213,653 persons with comorbidities (A3).

The DOH-13 report also indicated that 172,398 senior citizens (A2) in the region are now fully vaccinated, including the 54,788 frontline health workers (A1).

The rest of the vaccinated individuals include children with health issues, outbound overseas Filipino workers, and pregnant women.

The DOH-13 said 204,985 booster shots have so far been administered in the region. (PNA)
