DAVAO CITY – The city’s Vaccination Cluster opened Tuesday the inoculation for second booster doses against coronavirus disease (Covid-19) for the general public.

"Those who are eligible to receive the second booster shots can now get it in our various vaccination centers," cluster head Dr. Josephine Villafuerte said.

Individuals eligible to receive the second booster shot are those who were vaccinated with the first booster shot three to four months ago, Villafuerte said.

Currently, the city government uses the Moderna and Pfizer brands for booster shots.

Villafuerte assured the city still has “enough vaccines” for those who have yet to get their first and second vaccination doses.

Meanwhile, Villafuerte disclosed that the fully vaccinated population has stagnated between 80 and 85 percent. However, she noted that the number has already reached the required 70 percent population immunity prescribed by the Department of Health.

On the other hand, she urged anew parents of the pediatric population to facilitate their children’s immunization, noting that the vaccination cluster has only so far recorded a 6 percent vaccination turnout of the 242,000 target pediatric population in the city. (PNA)
