CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – Over 12,000 jobs await applicants in Central Luzon under this year’s "Trabaho, Negosyo at Kabuhayan" (TNK) Job and Business Fair, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) regional office here said on Tuesday.

This is in line with the celebration of the 124th Philippine Independence Day which anchors on the theme, "Pasuong sa Hamon ng Panibagong Bukas.”

In partnership with other concerned government agencies, the event will be held at Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in Malolos City, Bulacan on June 12.

DOLE Regional Director Geraldine Panlilio said the job fair will be a face-to-face event.

So far, she said there are 12,134 vacancies available for local and overseas employment from 92 participating companies from various industries.

The posts to be offered include management trainees, customer service representatives, service crew, sales representatives, sales consultants, and technical support representatives.

“The most vacancies available are in the field of sales, telecommunications, and of course, manufacturing,” Panlilio said in a radio program.

Aside from the job fair, she said there will also be a trade and livelihood fair, in coordination with the Department of Trade and Industry.

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), on the other hand, will conduct skills training.

“Maraming (There are many) activities such as the awarding of livelihood grants to more than 700 beneficiaries, payment of salaries for 1,250 Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program-beneficiaries," Panlilio said.

Likewise, she said partner agencies like the Social Security System, Bureau of Internal Revenue, PhilHealth, Home Development Mutual Fund, and others will be represented in the event to provide pre-employment services for the applicants.

“It will be a one-stop shop where government services will be brought closer to the job seekers,” she added. (PNA)
