ZAMBOANGA CITY – Law enforcers arrested two suspected big-time suspects and seized over PHP2 million worth of shabu in an anti-drug operation here, a top police official said Monday.

Col. Alexander Lorenzo, city police director, said Jimhar Jalani and Adriano Pedro, both 40, were arrested in a buy-bust around 11:39 a.m. Sunday in Martha Drive, Barangay Sta. Catalina.

Lorenzo said Jalani was previously arrested in 2017 and released sometime in 2020 through plea bargaining on orders of a local court.

Seized from the suspects were 300 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP2,040,000 and other pieces of evidence.

The suspects have been under surveillance for several days before the launch of the anti-drug operations.

The suspects will be charged with the violation of R.A. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002). (PNA)
