MANILA – The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) reminded members with unpaid loads to apply for the Program for Restructuring and Repayments of Debts (PRRD) Program until June 30.

Deity Manampan, GSIS Vice President for Vis-Min Operations Group, said the PRRD will save them from legal troubles and other consequences.

"We'll give them another chance to settle the loan, especially those na meron pa palang matatanggap (who will still have receivables) at the age of 60, tapos pinabayaan niyo ‘yung mga (then you ignored your) loan accounts. Sayang naman (It will be a waste)," Manampan said during Friday’s Laging Handa public briefing.

Instead of receiving their pension, it will be forfeited to make up for loan payments.

"So, this is your chance now. We are waiving the penalties and surcharges pero kailangan nyo pong mag-apply (but you need to apply officially) officially sa (at) GSIS," Manampan said.

The application should include two valid identification cards and the PRRD form which can be downloaded from the GSIS website or secured from any GSIS office.

PRRD is a one-time condonation and restructuring program under GSIS’s “Ginhawa (Convenience) for All” program, which covers salary loans, cash advance, consolidated loans, emergency loans, educational assistance loans, and policy loans, among others.

If the borrower is a retiree who will receive the pension at age 60 or after five years, the payment may be deducted from the pension.

If the loan is settled by the legal spouse, it will be deducted from the survivorship pension or paid through the nearly 3,000 Bayad Center partner outlets nationwide. (PNA)
