Blackwater sets franchise record with rout of Terrafirma

MANILA – Blackwater set its best start in the PBA Philippine Cup in style, dealing Terrafirma a 107-70 blowout on Saturday night at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

The 37-point winning margin was the largest the Bossing built in franchise history even as they moved up to 3-1 in the standings, also their hottest opening in the conference.

Blackwater outscored Terrafirma, 89-52, in the final three quarters to break out of an 18-all tie at the end of the first quarter.

Ato Ular led the Bossing with 16 points and five rebounds, while Jvee Casio added 14 points, one rebound, four assists, and three steals.

Yousef Taha had a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds alongside four assists and four blocks.

Joshua Munzon made 17 markers, five boards, three dimes, one steal, and two blocks for the Dyip, who fell to 0-5.

In the second game, the NLEX Road Warriors leaned on Don Trollano in the final quarter to beat the Meralco Bolts, 90-75.

Trollano scored 11 of his team-high 19 points in the final period as the Road Warriors improve win-loss slate to 3-2.

Chris Newsome scored 17 for the Bolts who absorbed their second loss in five games. (PNA)
