MANILA – More than 792,000 healthcare workers, senior citizens, immunocompromised and persons with comorbidities have received their second booster of Covid-19 vaccine.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said Tuesday about 70.5 million Filipinos are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 as of June 27. Of the tally, more than 9.5 million are adolescents and 3.4 million are children.

About 15 million have received their first booster shot.

"Last week, we started vaccinating booster shots to our immunocompromised adolescent population ages 12 to 17 years old. This week, the National Vaccination Operations Center is now preparing the guidelines for the administration of the first booster or third dose for our general adolescent population," Vergeire said in an online media briefing.

For the immunocompromised adolescents, the first booster or third dose may be administered at least 28 days after their second dose of the primary series.

For the general adolescent population, the booster may be received at least five months after their second dose of the primary series. (PNA)
