MALOLOS CITY, Bulacan – The Bulacan Police Provincial Office has put up several checkpoints and control points around the province in preparation for the inauguration of President-elect Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. on Thursday.

Col. Charlie Cabradilla, acting Bulacan provincial director, said on Wednesday it is to help ensure security for the inauguration.

"These checkpoints/control points set up at all provincial entrance and exit points would dissuade unruly elements and troublemakers from striking before and during the inauguration," Cabradilla said in an interview.

A total of 53 police officers were deployed to the dedicated border control points in the cities of San Jose del Monte, Meycauayan, and Obando while a border control point in San Miguel, Bulacan, and Nueva Ecija is manned by the Bulacan Provincial Mobile Force Company, the Highway Patrol Team, and the Law Enforcement Checkpoint of the various police stations province-wide.

Included in the preparation is increased intelligence monitoring to prevent probable attacks of groups plotting to disrupt the inauguration.

"Bulacan PNP is constantly on guard to avoid any local threats or other criminal groups from obtaining an edge in President-elect Marcos's assuming office," Cabradilla added. (PNA)
