Weekend road repairs set in 3 cities

MANILA – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will hold its weekly schedule of road repairs in the cities of Quezon, Makati, and Pasig starting Friday evening.

In an advisory, it said there will be road works along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (Edsa), C-5, and other road portions of Quezon City.

The road rehabilitation works will cover Edsa Northbound along Santolan MRT Station, bus lane; after P. Tuazon flyover to Aurora Tunnel, 3rd lane from center island (fast lane); after Aurora Boulevard to New York Street, 3rd lane from center island (intermittent section); and after Kamuning Road and Kamias Road to JAC Liner Bus Station, besides center island in Quezon City.

Other affected lanes on portions of Quezon City include Batasan Road, from Sinagtala Street to IBP-San Mateo Road, 2nd lane from plant box; and Visayas Avenue, Road 10 Elliptical Road southbound, 2nd lane from plant box and from Elliptical Road to Central Avenue northbound (near Congressional Avenue), 2nd lane from the sidewalk.

Similar works will be done along Edsa Southbound, from Balingasa Creek to Oliveros Footbridge in Quezon City and from Bernardino Street to Estrella Street, innermost bus lane, in Makati City.

Also, the innermost bus lane of Edsa Guadalupe Southbound, covering Bernardino Street going to Estrella Street in Makati City will be also closed for repair.

The DPWH will undertake road rehabilitation activities on portions of C-5 covering the southbound 2nd lane in Makati City, and along Pasig Boulevard southbound, near Chooks-to-Go Pineda and along Doña Julia Vargas Avenue, in front of Sitel Philippines in Pasig City.

Motorists are advised to expect traffic slowdowns near affected areas and to take possible alternate routes.

The road sections are set to be reopened to traffic by 5 a.m. on Monday, July 11. (PNA)
