MANILA – A bettor in Metro Manila became an instant millionaire after guessing the right six-digit combination of the Mega Lotto 6/45 draw on Monday night.

In an advisory Tuesday, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) said the bettor picked the numbers 06-17-40-45-39-13, winning a total jackpot prize of PHP53,920,694.

The ticket was purchased in Las Piñas City.

The bettor can claim his check at PCSO's main office in Mandaluyong City by presenting the winning ticket and two identification cards.

As provided in the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law, lotto winnings of more than PHP10,000 shall be subject to a 20-percent tax.

Forty others won PHP32,000 each for guessing five out of the six winning digits, while 1,552 will get PHP1,000 each for four correct digits and 25,998 will settle for PHP30 each for three correct digits.

Unclaimed prizes within a year shall be forfeited.

Mega Lotto 6/45 is drawn every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

This is the fourth time this month that a bettor won the jackpot prize of the government’s lottery games.

A lone bettor from Iloilo City won the Grand Lotto 6/55 pot of PHP401,186,804 and another lone bettor from Naic, Cavite won Lotto 6/42 bagged of PHP5,940,000 last July 9.

Two bettors from San Jose, Occidental Mindoro, and Tanay, Rizal became instant millionaires after winning the PHP34.8 million jackpot of the Lotto 6/42 last July 7.

The PCSO urged the public to patronize its games to generate more funds for health programs, medical assistance and services, and charities.

Through its mandatory contributions, the agency said it does not only help individuals in need of medical assistance but also provides funds to government institutions. (PNA)
