BUTUAN CITY – A total of 97 students from various towns in Agusan del Norte have been admitted to the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) scholarship grant.

In a statement Wednesday, the provincial office of the DOST said the new scholars have already picked their chosen undergraduate degrees and have undergone their first orientation activity.

The undergraduate degrees to choose from include the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

“Aside from the orientation, the qualified students have signed their scholarship agreement with the DOST under its Science Education Institute Undergraduate Scholarship Program,” the DOST said.

Assistance includes tuition and school fees amounting to PHP40,000 per year; a stipend of PHP7,000 per month; and a PHP100,000 allowance per year for their learning materials and connectivity.

“Each of the scholars is entitled to receive financial assistance throughout the four to five years of undergraduate studies,” the department added.

The scholars will also receive a PHP1,000 clothing allowance, a PHP10,000 thesis allowance, a PHP1,000 graduation allowance, and a premium group health insurance. (PNA)
