MANILA – The southwest monsoon or habagat is expected to bring rain showers over most areas in Luzon, the weather bureau said on Monday.

In its 5 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will be experienced over Metro Manila, Western Visayas, Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, and Mimaropa.

Flash floods or landslides are likely in these areas during moderate to at times heavy rains.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will prevail over the entire archipelago.

Meanwhile, PAGASA weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said no weather disturbance is seen to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility. (PNA)
