KORONADAL CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Soccsksargen (DSWD-12) is set to initially delist some 31,000 beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in the region.

This came as DSWD-12 Director Restituto Macuto said Wednesday the agency is continuously validating to double-check inclusion and exclusion errors in the list of beneficiaries.

“We are validating because we are going to notify the families who were included in the program but who are now living more comfortably, we will do this within two months," Macuto said in an interview.

The DSWD-12 is expecting the number of delisted beneficiaries to increase following the intensification of their house visitation, he said.

“We have received reports that many beneficiaries are pawning their Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards, and I also know there are barangay officials who are still on the list of beneficiaries, and we are looking into that,” Macuto added.

He said many of those who were validated were considered “non-poor” because their children have completed college education.

There are around 220,183 4Ps household beneficiaries in Region 12.

The DSWD-12 is helping some 4,000 households to graduate from the program this year. (PNA)
