BACOLOD CITY – Operatives of Bacolod City Police Office seized PHP4.318 million worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust at a residence in Barangay Pahanocoy here on Sunday night.

The arrested suspect was identified as Ahzer Villarosa, 36, who is believed to be a warehouseman of a major drug personality.

During the operation at around 8:10 p.m., Villarosa sold the prohibited substance  amounting to PHP50,000 to an undercover policeman, leading to his arrest.

Maj. Joery Puerto, chief of BCPO’s Police Station 8, said in a radio interview Monday the suspect was previously jailed for a murder case but was released in 2019.

After more than a month of surveillance, the operatives caught up with Villarosa, who yielded eight knot-tied transparent sachets of shabu, weighing about 635 grams.

Pegged at PHP6,800 per gram, the seized items amounted to PHP4.318 million.

“He is connected to the person (who is a former drug offender) who was found dead earlier this month,” Puerto said.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being readied against the suspect. (PNA)
