MANILA – Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles -- a government official, lawyer, radio commentator, vlogger, and now TikTok creator?

Cruz-Angeles officially joined TikTok with the username @seccruzangeles.

She posted her first TikTok on Monday, a #GRWM (Get Ready With Me) entry showing her getting ready for a Palace press briefing and inviting their followers to see their routine.

Her latest TikTok is a recap of the recent oath-taking of new members of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA), the interim government of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), at Malacañan Palace in Manila on Friday.

Cruz-Angeles has garnered more than 14,500 followers on TikTok as of Thursday night.

Aside from TikTok, she also has two Facebook pages -- Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles and the Office of the Press Secretary and Twitter accounts–@SecCruzAngeles and @opsgovph. Her office also manages the Office of the President Facebook page.

Earlier, Cruz-Angeles said the government is aiming to be more “responsive” to the needs of all Filipinos.

She said the government would be monitoring social media platforms to get immediate responses from netizens.

“Mahalaga sa amin yung social media namin dahil nakikita namin dito kung ano yung mga larangan kung saan namin kailangan punuin ng impormasyon na kinakailangan ng taongbayan (Our social media is important because through it we can see the areas where we need to fill people in on the information they need),” she added.

Cruz-Angeles, however, said feedback delivered via the postal system would also be accepted.

In a radio interview in June, Cruz-Angeles admitted feeling hesitant at first to accept her new position since the job required “self-discipline” since she would be representing the President and government.

She said she was aware that her life would “drastically change” once she took the job but did not want to refuse the chance to serve the nation and people. (PNA)
