BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The provincial government of Bataan and the city government of General Santos on Thursday entered a sisterhood agreement in advancing cultural and trade linkages.

Governor Jose Enrique Garcia III signed on behalf of the Bataan provincial government while Mayor Lorelie Pacquiao affixed her signature for General Santos City.

I am happy to share that our province Bataan and General Santos City have jointly signed sisterhood agreement yesterday, August 25, to promote the cultural and trade linkages of the two localities),” Garcia said in a social media post on Friday.

We want to expand the programs that would promote progress in our province and the General Santos City under this sisterhood agreement and through the exchange of special activities and useful policies, knowledge, programs and ideas),” he added.

The governor mentioned the similarity between Bataan and General Santos City in the aspect of agriculture, tourism, and natural resources which, he said, may contribute to sharing of unique strategies towards advancement and progress.

“No one has the monopoly of excellence, as we can all be enriched by our experiences and best practices, sharing these excellencies with others could ensure extraordinary achievements that in the long run will benefit mankind as a whole, especially all Filipinos,” he added.

Mayor Pacquiao, for her part, expressed her trust and support for the sisterhood agreement and encouraged everyone to continue the good relationship started.

“This partnership is proof of a strong and progressive government through cooperation and support of one another,” the mayor said. (PNA)
