MANILA – A lone bettor in Quezon province became an instant millionaire after guessing the right six-digit combination of the Mega Lotto 6/45 draw on Friday night.

In an advisory Saturday, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) said the bettor picked the numbers 34-24-07-44-21-38, winning a total jackpot prize of PHPP58,796,739.

The ticket was bought in Lucena City, Quezon.

The bettor can claim the check at PCSO's main office in Mandaluyong City by presenting the winning ticket and two identification cards.

As provided in the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law, lotto winnings of more than PHP10,000 shall be subject to a 20-percent tax.

Seventeen others won PHP32,000 each for guessing five out of the six winning digits, while 949 will get PHP1,000 each for four correct digits and 18,059 will settle for PHP30 each for three correct digits.

Unclaimed prizes within a year shall be forfeited.

Mega Lotto 6/45 is drawn every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

This is the second time this month that a bettor won the jackpot prize of the government’s lottery games.

A bettor from Valenzuela City. won the Lotto 6/4 2pot of PHP56 million last September 15.

The PCSO urged the public to patronize its games to generate more funds for health programs, medical assistance and services, and charities.

Through its mandatory contributions, the agency said it does not only help individuals in need of medical assistance but also provides funds to government institutions. (PNA)
