LEGAZPI CITY – The Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-5 (PDEA-5) arrested on Tuesday two drug suspects and seized over PHP3.4 million worth of shabu in Matnog, Sorsogon.

In a statement on Wednesday, Lt. Col. Malu Calubaquib, PRO-5 spokesperson, said authorities nabbed Francisco Cawa III, 46, of Malate, Manila; and Raffy Tepace, 28, of Barangay Poblacion, Norala, South Cotabato in Barangay Manjumlad, in Matnog, Sorsogon.

The two are included among the newly identified drug personalities, Calubaquib said.

Maj. Dominic Borigas, Matnog police chief, in an interview, said the suspects were truck drivers catering to frozen products and were bound to Davao City when they sold shabu to an undercover police operative.

Police seized from the two men plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing more or less weighing more or less 500 grams with a street value of PHP3,440,800 during the buy-bust.

The suspects will be charged with the violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
