BUTUAN CITY – The Land Transportation Office in the Caraga Region (LTO-13) recorded a revenue collection of some PHP138 million for the third quarter of this year.

In an interview Tuesday, LTO-13 operations chief Urbano Maglines Jr. said the revenues collected from July to September this year surpassed the PHP104 million collection for the same period in 2021.

“To sum up, we are able to gain a 33.4 percent increase in the third quarter of 2022 compared to last year,” Maglines said.

Comparative statistics report of the office indicated a PHP34 million increase in revenue collections from July to September 2022 compared to last year.

LTO-13 Acting Director Danielo Merson Borja said the increase in collections is driven by the continuing information drives of district offices that urge motorists to renew their expired licenses and registrations on time.

“Our campaigns paid off with the increase in the transactions from July to September in the different LTO district offices in the region,” Borja said.

Data also showed that the number of motor vehicles registered during the period increased to 73,686 compared to last year's 71,698.

“The biggest increase is on the number of licenses issued with 262.7 percent upturn,” Borja said.

Licenses issued during the third quarter increased to 57,175 compared to 15,761 in the same period in 2021.

The lowering of the health protocols in the different areas in the region is also a factor in the increase of transactions in the different district offices, Borja said.

He said LTO district offices in the area are directed to continue the minimum health protocols to protect their clients from the threat of the pandemic. (PNA)
