ZAMBOANGA CITY – Authorities arrested two of the top most wanted persons from Region 4-A in the Zamboanga Peninsula, police officials said Wednesday.
Arrested were Aero Asi, 36, and Joselito Pasok, 52, both listed as most wanted persons in Calabarzon.
Col. Alexander Lorenzo, Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) director, said Asi was arrested in an operation Tuesday afternoon along Mayor Jaldon Street, Barangay Canelar.
Lorenzo said Asi, a member of the Eleazar Rico criminal group in Iban, Batangas, is listed as the third most wanted person in Calabarzon.
Asi, who is residing in Barangay Putik, has a standing warrant of arrest for murder with no recommended bail issued by the court in Rosario, Batangas, on Aug. 19, 2022.
Meanwhile, Maj. Shellamie Chang, Police Regional Office-9 information officer, said Pasok was arrested in an operation Monday in Barangay Mias, Katipunan, Zamboanga del Norte.
Pasok was nabbed by a joint police team of Katipunan, and Mataas na Kahoy Municipal Police of Batangas.
Chang described Pasok, who is wanted for murder since 2009, as the “most wanted person in Batangas.” (PNA)
