DAVAO CITY - At least 570 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases have been tallied in Davao Region from Oct. 31 to Nov. 6, the regional Department of Health office (DOH-11) reported Tuesday.

In its weekly bulletin, DOH-11 said the latest number is lower by 5.2 percent compared to the 601 cases recorded from Oct. 24-30.

Only 61 out of the 437 Covid-19 admissions are severe and critical, the agency said.

Of the 61, only 34 (7.78% of the total admissions) are confirmed cases, while 27 are probable and suspect cases.

DOH-11 added that eight deaths have been recorded in the past seven days.

Meanwhile, the healthcare utilization for the regional hospital showed a capacity of 41.2 percent for non-intensive care unit (ICU) bed use and 59.4 percent for ICU bed use.

“The public is reminded to continue practicing minimum public health standards: wear the best-fitted mask, isolate when sick, double up protection with vaccination and boosters, and ensure good airflow,” DOH-11 said, even as it noted that Covid-19 vaccination efforts are continuing throughout the region.

As of Nov. 7, DOH-11 recorded a total of 7,417,551 vaccine doses administered in the region.

Some 3.5 million individuals, or 94.5 percent, have received a dose of Johnson & Johnson's Janssen vaccines.

More than 3.3 million individuals have been fully-vaccinated across the region, the agency added.

As for booster shots, around 17.3 percent or 657,415 individuals had received their first dose, while 3.2 percent or 122,003 have been administered with second doses. (PNA)
