Caraga vax rate at 91.5% with 1.7-M residents fully vaxxed

BUTUAN CITY
– At least 1,765,591 residents in the Caraga Region have been fully vaccinated as of Dec. 26, according to a report of the Department of Health in the region (DOH-13) released Friday.

The number represents a 91.5 percent vaccination rate in the region, from the agency’s target population eligible for a vaccination against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

“During the period, a total of 1,904,818 individuals in the region were already inoculated with at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine,”  DOH-13 said.

The report also indicated that at least 404,511 residents have already received a single dose of booster shots and 63,029 with two booster shots.

In Agusan del Norte province, a total of 263,686 individuals or 98.6 percent of the target are already fully vaccinated as of Dec. 26, while 452,542 residents or 89.9 percent of the target have already received full doses of the vaccines.

An 86 percent vaccination rate was also recorded in Surigao del Norte during the period with 326,080 persons now fully vaccinated, while 400,243 individuals in Surigao del Sur are reported fully inoculated, or 92.53 percent out of its target.

Dinagat Islands province, meanwhile, logged a 76.2 percent vaccination rate with 69,851 individuals fully vaccinated from the 91,575 target.

This city obtained the highest vaccination rate in the region with 105.3 percent.

The DOH-13 continues to call on Caraga residents to avail of the free vaccines from the government to protect them from Covid-19. (PNA)
