2 of Bicol's most wanted nabbed in Camarines Sur

LEGAZPI CITY – The police in Bicol have rounded up two most wanted persons in the region who are both accused of nonbailable offenses.

Lt. Col. Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) spokesperson, on Monday said the two suspects were listed as No. 7 and No. 9 regional most wanted persons.

Calubaquib said the suspects were nabbed in different police operations over the weekend. With court-issued warrants, the suspects are both facing charges of statutory rape.

"Suspect Marlon Pamares was arrested Sunday at Barangay Hanawan, while Edgar de Lima, 61, at Barangay Villaflorida, both in Ocampo, Camarines Sur. De Lima is listed as the region’s 9th most wanted criminal who is facing charges for the crime of rape docketed under Criminal Case No. P-7008 and statutory rape docketed under Criminal Case No. P-7007 with no bail recommended," she said in an interview.

Pamares, the region's No. 7 most wanted, was collared by authorities by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by the 5th Judicial Region Branch 8 Pili town, Camarines Sur for rape, docketed under Criminal Case No. P-7010 and statutory rape docketed under Criminal Case No. P-7009.

The arrested individuals are now under the custody of Ocampo Police Station for proper disposition and documentation.

Brig. Gen. Rudolph Dimas, PRO-5 regional director, extended his appreciation to the operating team for the arrest of the suspects which, he said, is reflective of the dedication of the unit in fulfilling its job of serving and protecting the community. (PNA)
