MANILA – The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday said there were about 642 medical consultations to their health operating units for the past three days of activities for the celebration of the Feast of the Black Nazarene.

In a situation report, 577 of the tally are cardio-related cases such as hypertension, hypotension, chest pain and high blood pressure.

About 43 cases are trauma-related like wounds and lacerations; 10 are neurological-related like headaches and dizziness; eight are respiratory-related, difficulty breathing and asthma; and four are gastro-related, abdominal pains and loose bowel movement.

The cases were logged from Jan. 6 to 9, 2023.

They were reported, managed and addressed from the days of preparation for the celebration, the DOH said.

Four cases out of the tally are hospitalized, three are now discharged, and one is still under observation.

The Metro Manila Center for Health Development works with the DOH to ensure the safety of the Black Nazarene devotees. (PNA)
