13 local flights canceled due to inclement weather

MANILA – Thirteen domestic flights were canceled and one was diverted due to inclement weather, the Manila International Airport Authority announced Wednesday.

As of 1:55 p.m., the following flights were canceled:

-- PAL Express (2P) 2994 Zamboanga-Manila
-- 2P 2997/2998 Manila-Zamboanga-Manila
-- Cebu Pacific (5J) 852 Zamboanga-Manila
-- 5J 853/854 Manila-Zamboanga-Manila
-- 5J 855/856 Manila-Zamboanga-Manila
-- 5J 859/860 Manila-Zamboanga-Manila
-- Cebgo (DG) 6839/6840 Manila-Del Carmen-Manila
-- AirAsia (Z2) 652 Zamboanga-Manila

Fight Z2 651 Manila-Zamboanga was diverted to Davao.

The low pressure area (LPA) last traced 575 km. east of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte remained less likely to develop into a tropical cyclone in the next 24 hours, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.

However, the weather bureau said this LPA and the shear line will cause moderate to heavy, with at times intense rains over Eastern and Central Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte and Surigao del Sur. (PNA)
