MANILA – A lone bettor from Metro Manila became an instant millionaire after rightly guessing the six-digit combination of the Super Lotto 6/49 in last Thursday night’s draw.

In a statement on Friday, Melquiades "Mel" Robles, general manager and vice chairperson of the board of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) said the lotto patron from city of Manila got the winning combination of 17-19-31-13-47-34, with a total prize money of PHP79,151,086.

The bettor can claim the prize at the PCSO main office in Mandaluyong City by presenting the winning ticket and two identification cards.

As provided in the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law, lotto winnings of more than PHP10,000 shall be subject to a 20 percent tax.

Prizes not claimed within a year shall be forfeited.

Meanwhile, 14 others won PHP50,000 each for guessing five out of the six winning digits, while 1,357 will get PHP1,200 each for four correct digits, and 27,288 will settle for PHP50 each for three correct digits.

The Super Lotto 6/49 is drawn every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday.

This is the fourth time this month and this year that a bettor won the jackpot prize of the government’s lottery games.

A lone bettor from Parañaque City won the Mega Lotto 6/45 jackpot of PHP56 million last Jan. 2.

Last Jan. 7, two bettors from Calamba City, Laguna, and Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental, split the Grand Lotto 6/55 jackpot prize of PHP142 million.

And last Tuesday night (Jan. 17) a lone bettor from Davao del Sur province became an instant millionaire after guessing the right six-digit combination of the Lotto 6/42 with a jackpot prize of PHP35 million.

The PCSO is urging the public to patronize its games to generate more funds for health programs, medical assistance and services, and charities.

Through its mandatory contributions, the PCSO not only helps individuals in need of medical assistance but also provides funds to government institutions. (PNA)
