BUTUAN CITY – Two drug suspects were arrested while over PHP1 million worth of shabu were confiscated in separate anti-drug operations conducted by the city police here, an official reported Friday.

Col. Marco Archinue, Butuan City Police Office (BCPO) director, identified the arrested suspects as Rechie L. Bantilan, 26, and Dan Ronnel B. Martinez, 31.

“The arrest of the suspects is the result of the consistent operation of BCPO together with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the Caraga Region,” Archinue said in a statement.

Both suspects, arrested on Thursday, are considered top-priority targets in the region, the police official said.

Bantilan was arrested by the BCPO intelligence unit during the service of a search warrant at his residence.

Authorities seized from his possession 100 grams of shabu with an estimated value of PHP680,000.

Martinez, meanwhile, was collared during a buy-bust in Barangay Villa Kananga, where 50 grams of shabu valued at PHP340,000 were confiscated. (PNA)
